PALM
SPECULATIVE DESIGN CONCEPT
Independent / University Thesis
DESCRIPTION
Palm is an inclusive hair styling tool that empowers
individuals, who have limited hand mobility, with the capability to style their own hair.
Palm was created through an extensive iterative process of
research and prototyping; co-designing with occupational therapists who helped evaluate key pain points. Prototyped with foam, wood, and computer aided design and 3D printing. Each step in the prototyping phase was met with user testing and deliberation.
